MacPacker overview
MacPacker is an archive manager for macOS that lets you browse, preview, extract, create, and edit archive files. It supports more than 40 archive and disk image formats and integrates with Finder and Quick Look.
Archives can be opened without extracting them first, including archives stored inside other archives. Individual files and folders can be viewed or extracted directly, making it possible to inspect large or nested archives without creating temporary files.

Version: 0.19.0
Use in combination with Keka. Keka excels at creating in multiple formats, including password and split archives, but doesn't support preview or selective extraction (though developer says 'soon'). MacPacker supports preview and selective extraction, but currently only supports creating archives in ZIP. Both are excellent.
PeaZip is a third option that extracts, creates and can preview within an archive, but IMO doesn't feel as stable, possibly because it is developed using multi platform tech to support Windows, Unix and Mac.
Still waiting for that free, stable app that does everything. If Keka adds preview and selective extraction, or whn MacPacker can create archives in all the common formats besides just Zip.

MacPacker is now UNIVERSAL: Apple ARM as well as Intel compatible. - - Oddly, it also now has two interchangeable names: MacPacker AND MacPackerStore. I cannot fathom why. Same thing. Note that it installs a Quick Look Previewer Extension upon installation.
